Follow the Yellow Brick Road - How I Moved to Kauaʻi
Trusting your intuition and guidance, taking a leap of faith even when you don’t understand why, and going for it, is the theme of this story. Ultimately I have found my angels and guides bring me to the right places at the right times. Sometimes I don't understand why at first, but in retrospect, everything is perfect. And I learn so much along the way. This is the story of how I moved my family from New York to Maui, and then got the guidance to move again. I followed the guidance and went on a trip to Kauai in April to see what it was all about. As the energy of Kauai called to me across the ocean, I have begun to understand that where you live is a reflection of the energy and spiritual development you are involved in. Kauai is the next step for my family and me, so we moved here in July and I’m so happy we did. I hope this story inspires you to follow your dreams and guidance.

Welcome to the Psychic Artist podcast. I'm your host, Sarah Rossiter. I'd like to share for today's episode a story about a trip I took to Kauai in April.
So, not long ago I moved to Maui, in August of last year. And this was in response to basically COVID turning my life upside down as I'm sure it has all of yours. And I just looked within, I had to go deep because it was really hard. I had a couple places in mind, but Maui was a pretty out there idea. And at first I dismissed it and then I brought it back. And anyways, I did a meditation where I had a vision of myself flying above Maui and saw my family here and having a very creative, beautiful life. So I went for it and we moved.
Now recently, having become much more settled on this beautiful island and gaining so much insight and psychic inspiration and connection. I'm doing a course, which assists me in manifesting. In this course I think we were doing a meditation about becoming aware of what it is that you want to work on to manifest. And I knew that I needed to manifest a new home. That perhaps we were going to buy a home or move soon, it was coming up for me. And so as I meditated again, I got that it was time for us to move to another place altogether. I got New Zealand and Kauai. I think that was it, maybe a little bit about Arizona, Sedona, but, Kauai was very strong. And so I went to visit Kauai last weekend and I used my intuition for every step of this trip.
So I would check in with my angels and guides before booking the trip. Is this the right day? Is this the right flight? I took my youngest child with me and even for the place to stay, I would look at the website with multiple choices and go through them and intuitively choose, does this feel good? Is this one aligned? No. Okay. Drop it. And even in the case of one, that looked very beautiful. The answer was no, for various reasons, in one case, the energy of the land underneath the resort was not a good place for me.
So I try to trust these intuitive hits because ultimately I have found they guide me to the right place. Sometimes I don't understand why. And so the place that I got for a hotel that the angels and guides said, yes, I thought looked pretty bad and I didn't want to stay there. I was like, no, no, no, no. That doesn't look very fancy. And it looks kind of gross and probably moldy, and it smells weird and... My brain was kind of spinning, but I checked in repeatedly and I got, yes, yes, yes, yes, stay here. So I again, took a leap of faith and trusted that intuition and stayed there, or I booked it.
And then when we landed on the island, but I had a lot of intuitive visions before we arrived. So during the week prior to this trip, I had images of where I wanted to move to on Kauai permanently and which parts. I got the North Shore, Hanalei. Felt very strongly about a certain beach there that I had visited 20 years ago. And even though I love Poipu and the other side of the island, the South Shore, I just didn't want to go there on this trip, it wasn't relevant. So I knew where I was headed and I knew that I was going to get a sort of message, but I didn't know what it was. And so I was just following the feeling and trying to keep myself really energetically, clear and protected and my child, and also wearing lots of masks and being careful about COVID.
Then when we arrived and we were driving around the island, I was just over come by looking at one of the mountains. There's so many beautiful mountain ranges there, but one of them at this particular shape, and every time I looked up at it, I heard the word "Mother." It just felt like there was an ancient, ancient connection between me and this mountain and that she had a feminine energy and that it was this motherly, encompassing, protective sort of regal feeling to it. So that was really lovely to arrive and just keep seeing this mountain above me, as we drove.
We visited a school and I felt that the mountains were hugging us, like arms going around the school. And that was a really cool feeling. And then as we drove to the North Shore, another set of mountains arrived over the road in the sky and the sun was setting and I felt such masculine energy coming from this mountain. And it felt like "Father," in a very God-like way. Very, again regal, ancient, protective, welcoming, but powerful, really powerful. And this just really blew me away.
And I loved looking at the intense greenery as I drove the roads. It felt so different, even though these islands are so close, it felt like deep, green, lush, intensity. And I really enjoyed it. I felt so grateful to be there moving along, seeing the sky change, and unlike the energy of the island that I currently live on in so many ways, even though it's wonderful here.
So I get to the hotel and the first room they put me in is a basement. And I go back and say, "No, there's no way I'm staying here. You're going to have to move me, I want a top floor." So of course they haven't had very many people, there's lots of opportunity to change. They give me a top floor facing a jungle of trees and it's evening. And I opened the slider of the patio and I look out at the balcony and it's just trees. And I hear the birds and I feel like I'm in Costa Rica. It's so lush and the birds are just chattering away, and it's just amazing, and I'm in another world. And I think, okay, this is the good room. I do a ton of sage burning, probably about to turn on the fire alarm, clearing out the space, opening all the doors and windows. Then it feels clear and we stay there and we have a wonderful time.
The next day I have to get up quite early so that we can cross the bridge into Hanalei because there's been a mudslide and the traffic can only travel before 7:45 AM, one way, each taking turns. So it's quite a long line. We get across pretty quickly. We go to this beautiful bakery and stand in line. There is a child there who plays with my daughter for an hour, and there are all these beautiful stray cats. And we feed they stray cats and they play. And it was just a very beautiful morning full of like 50 people that were standing in line for their coffee, tourists from all different places and locals. And it just felt like I was like back in New York city or something. And a lot of people there seem to be from California and everyone's wearing their masks and distancing, but it felt like, whoa, where am I?
And then I go across the street, I have a meeting with a real estate agent. He thinks I'm going to get in his car and drive around. I say, no, I'm not driving in your car. So then he changes the plan and he says, let's go back and look at my computer. I'll show you around. So he gives a map of the island and he shows me the areas that I'm interested in. And then he says, here's this land and I'm selling it. And so he shows me this land, which is on a ridge. All of a sudden I realize, that's why I'm here. I came to see this lot. And I'm so pleased. And he tells me about it and it's beautiful and perfect.
And then that evening, I go to that lot and I stand there and look at the beautiful view. I feel the earth beneath my feet. And I look across the valley at these beautiful trees and I'm above the tree tops. And it's so green, facing the direction that most people think is not the view, towards the East. And I realize I'm facing my hotel room, a quarter mile across this valley.
It's just so special to feel this magic that occurs when you trust your intuition. And I wanted to share that with you and I'll keep you posted if I buy the land and build, but it was a beautiful moment of thank you, angels and guides for bringing me here and letting me feel and listen to the environment and hear those birds and see the light and have this opportunity to be a part of place that called me from so far away.
